YES, we are STILL trying to ADOPT!

I have recently had people comment to me, oh, you are still trying to adopt again?  YES, we are!  Until we show up with another baby, we are STILL trying to adopt!  :)  So, I thought I should update and share our blog more often.  I'm in the process of updating all our pictures, since they are all over a year old!

As I've said before, one of the best ways for us to adopt is through designated adoption.  Sounds all fancy and different doesn't it? What it really means is someone we know may know someone who is facing an unplanned pregnancy and is considering adoption.  The person we know would share our profile with the person they know and then we'd see where it goes from there.  I think the reason more adoptions happen this way is because an extra level of trust is automatically built in by this very personal referral.  We would appreciate it more than we can say for all of our friends and family to keep us in mind if they are aware of any potential adoption situations.  Like, Pin, Share...  It's all about getting us out there!

When you are trying to adopt there is usually a very large amount of waiting time.  We have had an active profile on itsaboutlove.org for a year and a half now.  Sometimes it gets frustrating because you feel like your profile is just out there with the thousands of other couples who are hoping and praying for the very same thing we are!  But, we feel like it will happen when and how it is suppose to, as long as we do everything we possibly can!  We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers on our behalf!

Adoption - It Really IS About LOVE

I saw this perfect poem on my cousin's facebook wall this morning and just love it!  I'm not sure who wrote this, so I can't give credit.  This is exactly how we feel about Evan's birth mom.  We love and value her so much for giving Evan life and for letting that life be with us.  Someday we hope to be able to thank her in person and we hope to be able to use thoughts like these to explain to Evan how he was able to join our family.  We continue to pray for the day that another little one will come through a courageous, loving mother to our family.
